YouTube has announced a deal to keep CBS and CBS Sports after a blog post warning it could lose them.

A few days after YouTube put out a blog post saying it was at risk of losing access to Paramount content, it updated its blog post to say that it had struck a deal to keep it. The company said on X that, with this in mind, such channels including CBS, CBS Sports and Nickelodeon and additions like Paramount Plus, Showtime and BET Plus will not go anywhere after all.

In its post on Feb. 12, the company had stated it would provide an $8 credit if Paramount content became “unavailable for an extended period of time,” but updated the following day to say talks had been extended. YouTube TV didn’t provide more details about its new deal or how its pricing might change. In response to questions on X about whether it plans to raise prices because of the deal, the TeamYouTube account said, “We take these decisions very seriously & will be sure to communicate any potential changes in the future before they happen.”

In December, YouTube TV raised its monthly subscription by $10 to $82.99. The new price is in line with recent hikes from similar services such as Fubo, Hulu Plus Live TV and Sling TV as consumers increasingly switch from cable to streaming, while content creators search for ways to sustain revenue. YouTube didn’t immediately reply to The Verge’s request for comment.
